Welcome! I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Government at the University of Texas at Austin.
My research focuses on the relationship between religion and politics in Latin America. In particular, I examine the incentives and constraints that left-wing parties face when embracing religious and culturally conservative agendas in contemporary politics. I also study the role of religious organizations in state-building processes across the region.
My research has been supported by several organizations, including the APSA Centennial Center, the APSA Religion and Politics Section, the Tinker Foundation, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion.
Previously, I received a BA and MA in Political Science from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
